TL;DR
sqeakd is a free, local-only application. All transcription processing happens on your device using open source models. Your data is stored locally. We don't collect, transmit, or sell your data.
What We Collect
Currently, sqeakd collects nothing. The app runs entirely on your local machine.
If you choose to download through our website with Stripe (free or tip), Stripe may collect standard payment information according to their privacy policy. We receive only basic transaction confirmations.
Data Storage
All your transcriptions, recordings, and app data are stored locally on your device. We use open source transcription models that run entirely on your Mac.
No cloud. No servers. No external processing.
Note: We may introduce optional cloud sync and storage features in the future. These would be opt-in and may have associated data fees. Any such features would have their own clear privacy disclosures.
Future Services & Pricing
sqeakd is currently completely free. However, we may introduce:
- • Cloud AI features: Online AI processing may have usage-based charges
- • Cloud storage/sync: Data sync services may have associated fees
Any paid features will be clearly disclosed, opt-in, and have separate terms. Core local functionality will remain accessible.
